The president of the Business Alliance, Agim Shahini, stated that the minimum wage in Kosovo is the lowest in the region, amounting to €350, but that this sum does not cover the needs of the consumer basket. He sees the solution in a government decision to raise the minimum wage.

“The minimum wage in Kosovo is the lowest in the entire Balkans, €350. With such a minimum income, workers cannot live for 15 days. At this moment, the minimum wage should be at least €500,” Shahini told for Kosovo Online.

He added that this amount does not cover the consumer basket and emphasized that the government should make a decision to increase the minimum wage.

“That wage in no way covers the consumer basket, and the government should adopt a decision to raise the minimum wage,” Shahini stressed.
