Jovana Filipovic, the defense attorney for Dragan Cvetkovic from Pasjane, who is being charged by the Special Prosecution for alleged war crimes, stated to Kosovo Online that she is satisfied with the lifting of her client's detention but noted that a lengthy criminal process lies ahead, as the prosecution has proposed a large number of witnesses.

"We, as the defense, are satisfied with the court's decision, as are the members of Dragan Cvetkovic's family. I hope that we will continue to encounter some positive outcomes from the court as the proceedings continue. We firmly believe that Dragan Cvetkovic did not commit the acts he is accused of and that there was no justification for imposing any measures. However, we are pleased that he is no longer in detention and that he will be spending time with his family while defending himself during this process," Filipovic said.

She emphasized that a criminal process lies ahead, which will likely last a long time, given that, as she mentioned, there is a large number of witnesses in this case that the prosecution has announced.

She expressed hope that there will be a positive outcome for the other suspects as well.

Cvetkovic is charged with the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population in the territory of the Gnjilane municipality during 1999.

In addition to Cvetkovic, four more Serbs were arrested in Pasjane at the beginning of August. Their detention has been extended for another two months.
