Three people arrested near Visoki Decani monastery over "Kosovo is Serbia" inscription
Three individuals have been arrested near the Visoki Decani Monastery due to the inscription "Kosovo is Serbia" on their license plates, Reporteri reports.
According to the Kosovo Police, the vehicle in question had Montenegrin license plates, and the detained individuals were placed in custody for up to 48 hours.
"The police encountered a vehicle with Montenegrin license plates in a parking lot near the monastery, which had the inscription 'Kosovo is Serbia.' The police managed to identify the suspects and, after intensive efforts, arrested three individuals. They were interrogated, and by the decision of the state prosecutor, they were placed in custody for up to 48 hours," stated Fadil Gasi, spokesperson for the Pec region police.
He added that the case is under investigation and is being treated as "incitement to hatred."
Meanwhile, the Visoki Decani Monastery celebrated its patron saint, Saint Stefan of Decani, today. The liturgy was attended by several thousand people from Kosovo, central Serbia, and the region.
