Cadez: Open labor market within the Open Balkan Initiative to start functioning from July 1st

Marko Cadez, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, stated that the open labor market between Serbia, Albania, and North Macedonia would start functioning from July 1st. As he assesses, this will enable the citizens of these countries to freely seek employment in the three countries, benefiting the companies and economies of the member states of the initiative.

Cadez reminded that the "Wine Vision of the Open Balkan" fair in Belgrade and the "VinItaly" wine fair in Verona had been excellent opportunities for promoting the region and establishing new business agreements.

"It is essential for us to cooperate within the region but also to actively engage in discussions with the EU in order to gain access to the unified European market as soon as possible and enjoy the four freedoms. This is not only a question of our economic survival but also a European economic security issue, resource consolidation, and future innovations," Cadez said.

He added that there is a clear legal model and examples of how other European countries have become members of the unified European market, and he emphasized that the beginning of new communication and the dynamics of discussions with the EU are of crucial importance.

"A unified market as soon as possible, four freedoms as soon as possible, Serbian economy and Serbian citizens within the structures of Europe as soon as possible," Cadez concluded.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia points out that opening new markets for Serbian companies, regional economic integration, support for innovation and dual education, as well as a new dynamic in the process of EU accession through faster integration of the Western Balkan into the unified European market, are the key priorities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in the coming period.
