Escobar: US supports the "Open Balkan"

US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar said that the United States supported the "Open Balkan" and that it viewed the initiative as an attempt to integrate into the EU, as reported by Reporteri.

Escobar pointed out that trade relations were on the right track but also that there was still much to be done to improve the investment climate.

"We support the Open Balkan Initiative; we support your efforts to integrate closer with your neighbors and the European Union. We notice a lot of positive things. Now, there are still things you can do to help improve the investment climate, especially with regard to commercial courts and the independence of the judiciary. But for now, trade relations are really on the right track, and we see that important things are happening," Escobar said in a guest appearance on Albanian television Top Channel.
