Albanian analysts on the possibility of banning the work of the Serb List due to "endangering the constitutional order"

Albanian analysts in Kosovo assess that the institutions in Pristina should investigate the activities of the Serb List because they believe that it "endangers the constitutional order", and if the judicial authorities find this, they state that the procedure for deleting it from the register of parties should be initiated, Koha reports.

Analysts see as a "threat to the constitutional order" the statement of the official of the Serb List that the Serbs would be forced to defend their right to survival by all possible means, if by June 1 the new local structures made up of Albanians in the northern municipalities, elected in the elections on April 23, receive mandates.

Political science professor Dritero Arifi says that for the "threat" of that parliamentary party, in addition to the initiation of an investigation by the Prosecutor's Office, the possibility of deleting it as a political entity should be considered.

"That parliamentary political party came out with a statement that 'the occupation of a part of the country has begun’; I think that this is a direct threat to the constitutional order and that the judicial authorities should take this threat seriously. That is why we need to analyze the Serb List, whether the CEC should log it out because it really crosses every line," Arifi said.

Foreign policy expert Akri Cipa stated that the Serb List "with its rhetoric about the escalation of the situation is trying to justify the extreme political mistakes it has made, especially recently in the north".

"Now there is a new moment in which the impossibility of the Serb List, and even of Belgrade, to exert even greater pressure on the Government of Kosovo and the representatives of Kosovo has failed. It is trying to stay afloat with such rhetoric, with the escalation of rhetoric, but with limited means for action on the ground," Cipa said.
