The Ambassador of Serbia to the USA, Marko Djuric, handed a monograph to Colonel John Cappello, who is engaged in presenting the story of courage, patriotism, and brotherhood in the arms of the Serbs who, risking their own, saved the lives of more than 500 US and allied pilots.

"This year, Colonel John Cappello, touring the USA non-stop, in 15 large museums in 14 federal states, through exhibitions, forums, and even permanent exhibitions, presented the story of incredible courage, patriotism, and brotherhood in arms of our ancestors who, risking their lives saved the lives of over 500 US and allied airmen. This mission of his Halyard Foundation is of key importance for spreading the truth about Serbia and the Serbs in the USA," Djuric wrote on the social network X.

He said that he had presented Cappello with a new phenomenal monograph on the history of Serbian-American relations, which, with the support of the Serbian Embassy in the USA, had been published at the end of last year.

John Cappello, the former US defense attache at the US Embassy in Belgrade, has been working for years to revive the forgotten history of the "Halyard Mission".
