Brnabic with Power: "Open Balkans" is an excellent example of cooperation, and others in the region should join

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, pointed out at the meeting with the administrator of the American Agency for Development (USAID), Samantha Power, that Serbia is the driver of connection and development in the Western Balkans, as well as that the "Open Balkans" initiative is an excellent example and that she hopes that others in the region will also join, reports RTV.

Brnabic emphasized that the cooperation within the "Open Balkans" resulted in the removal of numerous obstacles, which enabled the free flow of people, goods, services and capital. She particularly emphasized that young people from the entire region will feel the benefits of this initiative.

The Prime Minister stressed that Serbia is determined to improve cooperation with the USA, driven by the influx of investments from American companies, the growing trade exchange of goods and services and significant financial support through various development aid programs, the government press service announced.

She pointed out that the Government appreciates all the results achieved through cooperation with USAID and welcomed the willingness of this American agency to contribute to further transformation in the fields of information technology and energy efficiency.

Brnabic informed Power about our country's progress in supporting technological entrepreneurship, which leads Serbia to the goal of becoming an even stronger center in the field of innovation that has the potential to create new jobs for young people.

The meeting discussed USAID's support through activities in the projects "Take on an idea" and "Serbia innovates", which refer to the gathering of relevant parties in order to create a strong system that supports innovation in our country.

Also, possibilities for cooperation in various fields, such as artificial intelligence and the development of biotechnology in Serbia, were discussed, and the importance of building the BIO4 campus and supporting its development as a center of the new bioeconomy in our country was especially highlighted.

Power emphasized USAID's commitment to continue supporting Serbia's efforts in strengthening democratic institutions and encouraging economic growth led by the private sector, and indicated the agency's readiness to continue its successful cooperation with Serbia, according to the statement.

The administrator of the American Development Agency positively evaluated the results achieved so far through the engagement of this agency and expressed USAID's intention to continue working on projects that will provide support for reforms in the coming years.

As stated in the announcement, the US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill also attended the meeting.
