Councilor of Self-Determination from Pristina also arrested during the narcotics seizure in Tirana
Albanian Police have arrested a member of the Self-Determination Movement and a councilor of the same party in the Assembly of Pristina, Besnik Mujeci, on suspicion of drug sales and trafficking in Albania. In this police operation, narcotics worth nearly half a million euros were seized, as reported by Albanian Post.
Mujeci, as stated, was part of a criminal group that was transporting drugs to Albania.
The Albanian Police announced that "the arrested individuals were located with a suspicious shipment of drugs containing 11,300 ecstasy tablets," with a market value of around 400,000 euros.
As indicated on the official Facebook profile of the Albanian Police, during the operation, Mithat Ramadani (30) and Besnik Mujeci (40), both from Pristina, and Kalem Picari (24), Ambra Myftari (28), and Daniel Avdia (26) with residence in Tirana were arrested.
The Albanian Police also stated that the investigation had revealed that those individuals, utilizing the tourist season and increased traffic, had sent shipments through bus lines from Pristina to Tirana.
"After the shipments arrived in Tirana, they were transported around Tirana and other cities using rented cars, mainly along the Albanian coast," the police stated.
