Dacic: To blow away the smoke screens and reveal whether the Brussels Agreement exists or not

Speaking for the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) broadcaster, the head of Serbian diplomacy Ivica Dacic called for the smoke screens to be blown away to reveal whether the Brussels Agreement existed or not. If neither the USA nor the EU could handle Albin Kurti, as he said, then it was about either their powerlessness or their tacit approval.

"After nine years of their refusing to establish the Community of Serb Municipalities, we will have to determine if there are any indications of the Brussels Agreement implementation because that's why we signed it in the first place", said Dacic.

According to him, Serbia was not a party to the conflict, Serbia was fighting for the protection of the Brussels Agreement.

When asked if the West could be able to exert pressure on Pristina, the head of Serbian diplomacy said that he didn’t know if they could, but also added that no one in Serbia believed that they couldn’t do it.

" If neither the USA nor the EU can handle Albin Kurti, then it’s about either their powerlessness or their tacit approval", said Dacic.

The Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs addressed the European Union stating that it was also their obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) in Kosovo and Metohija.

"I’m telling the EU that it is also their obligation to form the CSM, not just Kurti’s. Catherine Ashton signed it, and if that’s not valid, then you have deceived me as well", said Dacic.

Commenting on local Serbs’ decision to leave Kosovo institutions, Dacic said it was a historic decision, and that he supported it.
"We should not justify whether the decision was made in agreement with Belgrade or not. The whole world can make decisions about Kosovo and Metohija, whereas Belgrade seems to cannot. This is the decision made by the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija," said the head of Serbian diplomacy.

He added that Pristina thought it had anesthetized Serbs, bringing them to the brink of accepting its independence.
Speaking about the policemen in the north of Kosovo who had taken off their uniforms, he said that no one from Pristina had ever entered the institutions in the north, neither policemen, judges, nor prosecutors and that the agreement had included Serbs, but only if the CSM had been formed; otherwise, the Serbs would have to look for another way of community organization.

"We would like this situation to last as short as possible. We will do everything to preserve peace and to protest peacefully; it’s a type of resistance to Pristina for not forming the CSM", explained Dačić.

He noted that it was crucial to honor the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

"There’s no more beating around the bush; either they will act in accordance with the UN Resolution 1244, or they will openly say that they are on the side of Pristina. The time has come for them to say it loud and clear. The pendulum of history is turning around. All forms of resistance that Albanians used to have toward the Serbian government are now transformed into those that Serbs have toward the Albanian government", said Dacic.

He asked what good it was to have Serbs in Pristina’s institutions if it didn’t want to cooperate with them.
"Some claim that countries like Ukraine and Spain have rights on their entire territory, while only Serbia does not have those rights. If you do not have an explanation, do not irritate the Serbian people. It is common knowledge what Pristina and the EU need to do for Serbs to return to Kosovo institutions", Dacic underlined.
Commenting on the possibility of Pristina applying for EU membership, he said that they were free to do so. 

"They want to drive the EU out into the open to vote in favor of their request. It is a move that has no chance of succeeding because five EU countries do not recognize Kosovo's independence", Dacic said, also adding that he was taking the issue seriously and that he had already scheduled several meetings in this regard.
