Declaration of the EU-Western Balkans Summit: Implement the Ohrid Agreement, as well as all previous agreements
Today, leaders of the European Union, in the Declaration adopted at the EU-Western Balkans Summit, called on Belgrade and Pristina to fully implement the Agreement on the normalization process and its Annex without delay or preconditions, as well as all previous agreements.
The Declaration states that they fully support the efforts of the EU High Representative and the EU Special Representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and other regional issues of the Western Balkans.
Both sides are expected to engage constructively "in good faith and in the spirit of compromise" to achieve swift progress in normalizing relations, which, as stated, is critically important for the security and stability of the entire region and to ensure that the parties can progress on their European path.
"We call on the parties to fully implement the Agreement on the normalization process and its Implementation Annex, as well as all previous agreements, without delay or preconditions. We also expect them to continue making continuous efforts to de-escalate tensions in line with EU requirements and to refrain from unilateral and uncoordinated actions that could lead to further tensions and violence, as well as from rhetoric that does not contribute to the normalization of relations", the Declaration states.
