Djuric with Schneider: Unilateral moves by the Pristina authorities slow down the normalization of relations
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Djuric, spoke with US Congressman and member of the Serbian Caucus Brad Schneider, and on that occasion said that Serbia wants to build an even more intensive political dialogue and economic ties with the United States, based on shared interests and values. At the meeting, the Minister also emphasized that the process of the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina has slowed down due to unilateral moves by the Pristina authorities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia stated that Djuric said that the establishment of a strategic dialogue would provide an additional boost to strengthening comprehensive cooperation in numerous areas of shared interest.
"The particular focus of the conversation was on the importance of the Serbian community in America and its potential in strengthening ties between our two countries," the statement added.
The Minister also pointed to the importance of US support in the process of the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and warned that this process has been seriously slowed down due to unilateral moves by the Pristina authorities and the ongoing pressure campaign against the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.
The topics of discussion also included the challenges Serbia faces regarding the Petroleum Industry of Serbia and the activities undertaken by Serbia to resolve the situation as soon as possible in the most favorable way, the ministry’s statement noted.
