Serbia’s Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated, in response to the verdict against the Republic of Srpska President Milorad Dodik, that Serbia will always stand by the Republic of Srpska, and that it is time everyone understands that the path to stability in the Balkans lies in dialogue with elected leaders.

“Unfortunately, instead of seizing the opportunity to de-escalate the situation, we are witnessing a continuation of politically motivated witch hunts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Milorad Dodik was elected president of the Republic of Srpska by the will of the people. No one should assume the right to invalidate that will,” Djuric emphasized on the social media platform X.

Stressing that it is time to recognize that the road to Balkan stability runs through dialogue with elected leaders, not through pressure against them, Djuric said that Serbia will always support the Republic of Srpska, the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the right of the people to freely choose their representatives.

“A stable and prosperous region focused on cooperation can only be achieved through dialogue and mutual respect, not through methods that are clearly undemocratic and unacceptable,” Djuric concluded.
