The document by which the Ministry of Infrastructure calls for a public discussion on expropriation in Leposavic and Zubin Potok

The Ministry of the Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure has called for a public hearing on the expropriation of real estate of public interest in the municipalities of Leposavic and Zubin Potok and has scheduled them for February 15 at 10:30 a.m. in Leposavic and February 21 at 10:30 a.m. in Zubin Potok, the document obtained by Kosovo Online shows.

"The public hearing regarding the requested expropriation in the municipality of Leposavic will be held on February 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the hall of the Assembly of the Municipality of Leposavic and it will refer to the cadastral area of Bistrica, Veliki Breg, Dren, Lesak and Kosutovo, while the public hearing regarding with the requested expropriation within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Zubin Potok will be held on February 21 also at 10:30 a.m., in the hall of the Assembly of the Municipality of Zubin Potok, for the cadastral area of Brnjak, Zubin Potok, the village of Banje and Gornji Jasenovik," the notice of the Ministry in which Kosovo Online had an insight states.

"All persons who are public officials of the municipality where the public hearing will be held, owners or those who have an interest in property located within this municipality, or a lawyer or legal representative of these persons, have the right to participate in the public hearing," the notification stated.

It added that they would be given a "reasonable opportunity" to express their opinion orally regarding the proposed expropriation and that anyone wishing to participate or express an opinion in the public hearing should bring documents proving ownership or interest.

"On February 2, 2023, the government approved the decision on further consideration of the request for the expropriation of real estate of public interest, which is necessary for the implementation of "infrastructural projects of public interest" in the cadastral areas: Bistrica, Veliki Breg, Dren, Lesak and Kosutovo in the municipality of Leposavic and in the cadastral areas: Brnjak, the village of Banje and Gornji Jasenovik in the municipality of Zubin Potok," this document states.

Let us remind you that the residents of Dren have been protesting for 13 days because of the usurpation of their property, and they organized the signing of a petition asking the Government of Kosovo to cancel the decision on the expropriation of their land.
