Elek also refuted Sveçla: There is no communication between Serbian and Kosovo healthcare institutions
Zlatan Elek, Director of the Clinical Hospital Center in North Mitrovica, stated to Kosovo Online that healthcare institutions in Kosovo operating under the Republic of Serbia’s system have no communication with Kosovo’s healthcare institutions. He expressed surprise at the statement made by Kosovo’s Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, who claimed the opposite.
Yesterday, Sveçla declared that healthcare institutions in Kosovo functioning within the Serbian system would no longer operate under Serbian regulations, and their activities would be defined by Kosovo’s laws. He also mentioned that Kosovo’s Ministry of Health had already initiated the necessary communication with the healthcare system operating in municipalities with a Serbian majority.
Director Elek expressed his surprise at Sveçla's statement.
"I was astonished to read Minister Sveçla’s statement in which he claims that healthcare institutions operating under the Republic of Serbia’s system are communicating with Kosovo’s healthcare institutions. So far, there has been no communication between the two systems," Elek said.
What surprised him even more, he added, is that the Minister of Interior is speaking on matters related to healthcare.
"What further astonishes all of us is that the Minister of Interior, who has almost no connection with the healthcare system in which we operate, is making statements about the healthcare system in Kosovo and Metohija," Elek concluded.
