EU in Kosovo: Failure to certify the Serb List harms an inclusive electoral process

The European Union Office in Kosovo expressed regret over the decision of the Central Election Commission not to certify the Serb List for participation in the 28 December elections, stating that the politicization of the CEC harms the inclusiveness of the electoral process.

“The EU in Kosovo regrets the decision of the Central Election Commission not to certify the Serb List for the early general elections on 28 December,” the statement published on Facebook reads.
It is emphasized that the politicization of the CEC by Self-Determination and other political parties undermines an inclusive electoral process.
“The politicization of the CEC by the Self-Determination Movement and other political parties harms an inclusive electoral process in accordance with international standards and the findings of the EU Election Observation Mission,” the statement concludes.
