EU: Kurti's statement that his proposal was the only one on the table in Brussels is not true
The European Union has denied Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's claims that his proposal had been the only one on the table during the meeting in Brussels, and has reminded of the proposal for the sequence of implementation of the reached agreements, which it had already presented within the dialogue framework, RTV reported.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, clearly stated after the meeting that the proposal for the sequence of implementation had already been presented to Belgrade and Pristina during the June meeting.
As Tanjug reports, the EU also points out that the EU Special Representative for Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, had seven separate rounds of talks with both sides on this matter in the meantime.
"Kurti's statement that this proposal was the only one on the table is therefore factually incorrect," the EU adds.
The text, which was presented to the parties and to which Tanjug had access, envisions formalizing the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and completing internal procedures in Kosovo to protect Serbian religious and cultural heritage under Article 7.
It is stated that Articles 7 and 10 envisage completing negotiations on the statute of the self-government instrument for Serbs in Kosovo.
These articles also envision the parallel establishment of a "self-government instrument" for Serbs in Kosovo, as well as the abolition of structures under Belgrade's administration in Kosovo and their transition, if needed, within the framework of the self-government instrument for Serbs in Kosovo.
Articles 1, 7, and 10 envisage the parallel initiation of negotiations on the "statute of the self-government instrument" for Serbs in Kosovo.
