Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, stated that the EU member states' ministers will support the appointment of Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen as the new EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, and that this dialogue will remain high on the EU's agenda.
"Today, we will support the new EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, the esteemed and well-known Danish diplomat Sorensen, who has already led European delegations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia," Fajon said upon arriving at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
She added that the "Belgrade-Pristina dialogue will continue to be high on the European Union's agenda."
Sorensen was nominated for the position of EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
The current EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, will have his mandate expire on January 31.
