Grenell: Common sense must prevail in Kosovo; Kurti to change course
The former US special representative for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Richard Grenell, said tonight that common sense must prevail in Kosovo, and Prime Minister Albin Kurti must "change course".
Grenell wrote on Twitter that the new mayors should work from alternative locations and that new elections should be held immediately with full participation, and that the special police should be withdrawn, because it was a unilateral move by Prime Minister Kurti.
"Common sense must prevail in Kosovo:
- Prime Minister Kurti must change course.
- New mayors should work from alternate locations and new elections should be held immediately with full participation.
- The special police should be withdrawn because it was a unilateral move by Prime Minister Kurti.
- The protesters can then leave the streets.
- Both sides must implement all previous agreements.
- Anyone who has attacked KFOR, Kosovo police or Serbian protesters should be held accountable.
The US must lead the negotiations going forward," Grenell wrote.
