Hill: When the issue of CSM is resolved, we will see progress in other aspects

US Ambassador Christopher Hill expressed his expectation that intensive talks about the Community of Serb Municipalities will take place in Brussels on May 2nd, but he thinks that the end of that issue is near, N1 reports.

"Serbs have been waiting for this for a long time, but we have reached a point where it will become very real," Hill said for Pink TV, adding that the US believes that CSM is key to achieving normalization of relations.

According to Hill, although there are tensions in the air, he also feels that this issue is important and that we will see something important happen.

When asked what Washington would be satisfied with in the talks, Hill said that they would be satisfied if the CSM is formed and dates are set, adding that it is known it will not happen on May 3rd, but he believes that an understanding will be reached on what needs to be done.

"When the issue of CSM is resolved, we will see progress in other aspects of normalization," Hill said, calling on everyone to be calm.

Asked about Serbia's view of visa liberalization for Kosovo as a reward, Hill said that visa liberalization was a separate process, as was the candidacy for membership in the Council of Europe, but that he understood why Serbs felt that way.

Hill also stated that Serbia would be a member of the European Union.
