Jevtic: Unity is the greatest strength and necessity for the Serbian people in Kosovo

The Vice President of the Serb List, Dalibor Jevtic, stated today that unity has always been and will remain the greatest strength and need of the Serbian people in Kosovo, and emphasized that the goal of the Serb List's actions is to promote unity among the people, as well as in political and other aspects, RTV reports.
Jevtic highlighted the exceptional importance of joint efforts with the state of Serbia and added that the Serb List is the only party in Kosovo that has the support of official Belgrade.
"This is precisely to prevent what we have seen in the past, even the not-so-distant past. In Pristina, there are some Serbs in the government who do not oppose the opening of a so-called genocide museum, who voted in favor of confiscating Serbian property from Serbian landowners in northern Kosovo and Metohija. This clearly shows why it is necessary for the Serb List to hold positions in institutions that are guaranteed," Jevtic said.
He stated that the situation for Serbs in Kosovo is difficult and the circumstances are challenging because, according to him, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is doing everything possible to make life and conditions for Serbs as hard as possible, aiming to force them to leave those areas.
"In such circumstances, we are approaching February 9, expecting each day to become increasingly difficult because Kurti will take measures and radical steps to boost his popularity and win these elections," Jevtic emphasized.
He stressed that under these circumstances, the Serb List will fight to win all 10 mandates and prevent anyone from controlling Serbian votes in the Pristina Assembly.
"We cannot allow other processes to unfold, as we have seen in examples from the not-so-distant past. For instance, the Assembly in Pristina passed a resolution ending Kosovo's supervised independence with the help of Serbian votes, which caused us to lose a strong international mechanism for protecting the Serbian people. We cannot allow this to happen again. We must have all 10 mandates in the hands of the Serb List," Jevtic concluded.
