Krtinic: Signing of the petition for the removal of the mayor completed; we have exceeded the expected number

One of the initiators of the petition for the removal of the mayor in North Mitrovica, Sanja Krtinic, confirmed to Kosovo Online that the collection of signatures was completed today and emphasized that the number of necessary 20 percent of citizens who signed the petition had been exceeded.

“Today, we finished collecting signatures for the petition for the removal of the mayor removal. We have exceeded the necessary number, and on Monday, we will know the exact figure,“ said Krtinic.

She emphasized that they were very satisfied with the citizens' response.

According to the data provided by the Central Election Commission to the petition initiators, there are 18,200 voters on the electoral roll in the municipality of North Mitrovica, and to initiate the petition, it is necessary for 20 percent, or 3,640 voters, to sign it.

Citizens of North Mitrovica started signing the petition on January 17 in the Sports Hall.

Signatures for the removal of the mayors are also being collected in Leposavic, Zubin Potok, and Zvecan.
