Lajcak: I agreed with Geoana that it is necessary to take steps for immediate de-escalation in the north

Miroslav Lajcak, the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, stated that he had discussed last night with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana about the situation in northern Kosovo and that they had both agreed that urgent steps needed to be taken for de-escalation.

Lajcak emphasized on Twitter after the meeting that he had also stressed this during his address to NATO ambassadors.

"Useful to meet with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana, to discuss the situation in the north of Kosovo. We agreed that steps need to be taken for an immediate de-escalation. I also stressed this when addressing NATO Ambassadors," Lajcak said.
