Maloku: Harmful statement by Osmani, Kosovo is not in a position to threaten to end the dialogue

Political analyst Albinot Maloku, commenting on President Vjosa Osmani's statement that if the decision to suspend visa liberalization is enacted, it would mean the cessation of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, has stated that Kosovo was not in a position to threaten to end the dialogue, as reported by Ekonomia Online.

Maloku believes that President Osmani's statement contradicts the spirit of former President Ibrahim Rugova, whom she claims to follow.

"In this regard, consider that this was not an appropriate statement at this moment, because it would be good for President Osmani to demonstrate the readiness that exists in Kosovo regarding the implementation of the Franco-German plan," he said.

Maloku emphasizes that President Osmani's statement damages Kosovo's position, and he asserts that Kosovo is not in a position to make threats but rather should seek alternatives that open up prospects.

"President Osmani's approach through this statement is not in line with Kosovo's fundamental goal of building better diplomatic and international relations with friendly countries, including those that claim to be Kosovo's friends. As such, this statement certainly harms Kosovo's internationally fragile position, and I consider it inappropriate to have this so-called threat, given that Kosovo's stance is not to threaten but to find an alternative that will open up prospects. Especially those alternatives that align with Kosovo's integration goals, which the government itself always represents, and those are integration into the EU," he said.
