Nikolic: Serbs in Kosovo should stand under one banner in the June 7 elections

The President of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Danijela Nikolic, stated today that Serbs in the new snap parliamentary elections in Pristina, scheduled for June 7, should stand under one banner and support the Serb List, which, she stressed, is the only party representing Serbian national interests, RTV reports.

Nikolic said that the Serb List’s electoral slate includes 25 candidates who have proven themselves to be true fighters for the Serbian people.

“These are honorable people with clean biographies who, in the previous period, proved themselves to be true fighters for the Serbian people. It is up to the citizens to choose the 10 best whom they believe can represent them,” Danijela Nikolic told Pink.

She added that the Serb List has a stable voter base and that the Serbian people in Kosovo have always looked toward the Serb List in recent years, which, she emphasized, coordinates with Belgrade.

Referring to the fact that the Serb List, by decision of the CEC in Pristina, received 14 out of a total of 38 commissions in polling boards for the upcoming elections, Nikolic said that Albin Kurti is once again trying in every possible way to prevent the Serb List from having its own observers and reminded that the party had filed a complaint with the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals because of this.

Nikolic said that there is an institutional crisis and a collapse of the system in Pristina, pointing out that snap parliamentary elections are being held only a few months after the regular elections.

“If they were able to form a stable government that could last and make sense, they would have done so by now. The question is whether they will be able to do so even after June 7 and how much sense any future government will make,” Nikolic assessed.

In her opinion, a major political conflict among Albanians is emerging.

“But that is their matter. Our task is that on June 7 we all stand under one banner, achieve a good result, and show Albin Kurti that, regardless of everything he does against the Serb List and the Serbian people, we are not a toy he can play with in any way,” emphasized the president of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija.
