Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Kurti is trying to instigate a new crisis, just to avoid obligations

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced tonight that the violent, nervous and coercive actions of the Kosovo Police, who today arrested Milovan B. in Zubin Potok and continued to harass Serbs in the north of Kosovo, actually showed the true intentions of Albin Kurti, which was an attempt to provoke chaos and a new crisis.

"Kurti is trying in every possible way, through his “soldiers”, to cause tensions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, in order to provoke a reaction from the Serbs, whom he would then accuse of potentially escalating the situation on the ground, just to escape from the dialogue and obligations from Ohrid with respect to the CSM formation", the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija states.

They also state that Kurti did not accidentally choose to start arresting Serbs today.

"Just as he timed the call for Ivan Todosijevic to serve his sentence before the beginning of the talks in Brussels, and as he continued to harass the Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija in every way, in order to find justification for the creation of the crisis and avoidance of the CSM formation, and then extend his mandate in power, all while hiding behind some kind of 'fight against corruption'", the announcement states.

It is also emphasized that Kurti, according to the tried-and-tested scenario, raises tensions on the ground and calls for escalation every time before the talks in Brussels, even though he received clear warnings from international officials to reduce tensions, stop unilateral violent moves and start the process of normalizing relations.

"It is now clear to everyone who is the instability factor in the Western Balkans, who is destroying the dialogue, so that nothing can be 'normal' with Kurti, not even the normalization of relations," the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concluded.
