OSCE: We are in contact with the SOC; we are seeking clarification from Kosovo authorities regarding the reasons for the deportation of Abbot Fotije
Kosovo authorities deported the abbot of the Devine Vode Monastery near Zvecan, on Friday without providing any explanation. Following EULEX, the OSCE has now issued a response to Kosovo Online, stating that they are seeking clarification from the Kosovo authorities regarding the reasons for the deportation of Archimandrite Fotije.
The response states that "the OSCE Mission has consistently supported the clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church in obtaining their residence permits in accordance with Kosovo's legislation".
"The OSCE Mission has also supported Abbot Fotije. We are in contact with the Serbian Orthodox Church regarding this case and are seeking clarification from Kosovo authorities regarding the reasons for his deportation," the OSCE's written response to our portal states.
Let’s recall that the Eparchy of Raska and Prizren will file an appeal against the decision of Kosovo authorities to deport the abbot of the Devine Vode Monastery near Zvecan, as the legal team of the Eparchy of Raska and Prizren believes that this is about an arbitrary ban on Abbot Fotije's residence, as there is no indictment or criminal responsibility involved.
