Petkovic: Kurti deliberately twists the narrative — All threats and terror against Serbs come from Pristina, never from Belgrade

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic stated that Albin Kurti is deliberately distorting the narrative with his claims about pressure on Serbs in Kosovo because, as he stressed, all threats and terror against Serbs come from Pristina, never from Belgrade.

“There is nothing more repulsive on Pristina’s political scene than Kurti’s alleged concern for the Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija. Even more hypocritical is Kurti’s false concern for employees of Serbian healthcare and educational institutions, which he attempted to shut down just a month ago. When Kurti, who terrorizes the Serbian people every single day, speaks about alleged terror from Belgrade, he is in fact speaking about his obsession with Serbia,” Petkovic said in a statement responding to Kurti’s claims that Serbs in Kosovo are facing “unprecedented pressure and threats” in order to politically support Serb List.

Petkovic stressed that it is precisely Belgrade that provides salaries for all employees, enables and improves working conditions in Serbian educational and healthcare institutions, and continuously increases the number of jobs.

“Serbia cares for its people and will continue to do so decisively, while Kurti is the one who seeks to suppress and destroy everything Serbian. Kurti deliberately reversed the narrative, because all threats and terror against Serbs come from the Pristina regime, never from Belgrade,” Petkovic underlined.

He added that when Kurti’s witness for everything he says is “the scoundrel Nenad Rasic,” then everything becomes clear.

“Rasic long ago sold out his faith for personal gain, and now he has gone a step further by sending Kurti’s police into Serbian institutions and arresting honorable and respected Serbian directors of Serbian schools and hospitals. Of course, Kurti has never reflected on the numerous sufferings of Serbs, but instead sheds crocodile tears over those participating before cameras in a campaign personally orchestrated by Kurti. It is clear that Kurti will never care about Serbian suffering, because he himself is the cause of Serbian hardship,” Petkovic stated.

He said he was convinced that the Serbian people know very well what is happening and who is working in their interest and who is working against them.

“That is why it is important at this moment for all honorable Serbs to demonstrate unity and provide even stronger support to Serb List, so that people like Rasic and his boss Kurti are never again repeated on the political scene,” Petkovic concluded.
