Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, assessed that "Albin Kurti's messages that he is afraid of a new escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija are nothing more than creating an alibi for new unilateral actions by Pristina, directed against the Serbs in the province".

"It is well known to everyone that the only one who causes tensions, conflicts, and violent actions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija is Albin Kurti, through his parapolice phalanxes, and that is why his words cannot be interpreted otherwise than as new ominous threats to the Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic warned, according to the announcement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

Petkovic pointed out that because of this, Kurti would be directly responsible for any possible action against the Serbs in the north and peace in these areas.

"Any kind of attempts to criminalize the peaceful Serb in the north of Kosovo and Metohija are useless, or media spins and red herring, when it is known who is the source of all the problems in the province. Let him stop lying and deceiving once and for all when the entire international community has clearly marked Pristina as a source of instability and unilateral actions on the ground with which he is trying to carry out his violent occupation of Serbian municipalities in the north," Petkovic said.

He stressed that "Belgrade and the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija do not threaten anyone and do not want conflicts and confrontations, but that they want to live in peace, on their own land, with their Albanian neighbors."
