One of the leaders of the "Don't buy Serbian products" campaign, Burim Piraj, said that the citizens of Kosovo needed to raise their economic patriotism and stop buying products from Serbia, but he admitted that this also required the support of the Government, Koha reports.

Piraj emphasized that they asked to meet with Prime Minister Albin Kurti to discuss the campaign for the boycott of Serbian products, but according to him, Kurti did not respond. He said that they also wrote to the Speaker of the Parliament, Glauk Konjufca, but that they had not yet received a reply.

"We sent a request to Kurti and Konjufca to meet, but they did not respond while we met with Minister Rozeta Hajdari. During the conversation, we showed concern. Kurti has not responded to us for several months, while we wrote to Konjufci two or three days ago, but there is still no response from him either. We believe we will get them. We must raise economic patriotism, but we need the support of the state", Piraj said.

He added that he would ask the institutions for a more detailed analysis of Serbian products that entered Kosovo.

"All Serbian products should be analyzed. Even material products, because it is not known how much their radiation is. We must take care of our health. We have information that Serbian products are rarely checked by AUV. We will demand greater control over Serbian products", he added.

Piraj does not understand why politics hesitates to support him in this campaign and that he met with opposition leaders Memli Krasniqi and announced a meeting with Lumir Abdixhiku, the DLK president.

Piraj said that they did not yet have data from the Customs of Kosovo, but he believed that in recent months there had been a decrease in the purchase of products originating from Serbia. He admits that more needs to be done to make citizens aware of why they should not buy Serbian products, and warns that the "Don't buy Serbian products" campaign will not be short.

"Serbian products are not important. You can live well without them", Piraj emphasized.
