Pozar about the Berishaj affair: It is difficult to say whether the Government of Kosovo will collapse, but in Slovenia, that possibility exists

Given that the affairs of GEN Company and Golob are already being investigated by the State Prosecutor's Office of Slovenia, there will be, or at least should be, an exchange of information between the competent authorities of Slovenia and Kosovo, Bojan Pozar, one of the best Slovenian investigative journalists says for Kosovo Online, regarding the Berishaj affair.

Pozar also states that "the Berishaj affair could lead to the collapse of the government in Slovenia."

"It is difficult to say whether the Government of Kosovo could collapse because of this because I do not know enough about the political scene in Kosovo, but as far as Slovenia is concerned, that possibility definitely exists. However, the Slovenian media, mostly favorable to Robert Golob, are still hiding information about the GEN Company Balkan affairs from the Slovenian public, because they are still silent about it, but that cannot last forever," our interlocutor says.

The opposition in Kosovo claims that the GEN Company gave 14 million euros for the pre-election campaign of Kurti, and when asked if he had any knowledge of the matter, the Slovenian journalist stated.

"According to the information published so far, it is practically a fact. But now it is up to the competent authorities to prove or disprove what the media wrote."

Pozar believes that if there is a prosecution due to the aforementioned affair, whether only the Kosovo ambassador to Croatia will be on the dock or if there will be other politicians from Slovenia and Kosovo,

"it is crucial whether Berishaj will speak or not".

The Kosovo Corruption Agency filed a criminal complaint against Berishaj, and the media reported that he had received at least 1.5 million euros from the GEN Company from 2019 to April 2022, avoiding taxes. The opposition in Pristina claims that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is behind everything and that even 14 million euros were transferred by the aforementioned company for his election campaign.
