Radakovic: Kurti's message to the Serb List is shameful; it is a new type of threat

Dusan Radakovic, executive director of the NGO "Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture" from North Mitrovica, calls Albin Kurti's statement "that people from the Serb List will suffer and pay for the mistake they made" shameful.

Radakovic told Kosovo Online that he had been afraid that the Kosovo side led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti would not accept the EU's proposals to de-escalate the situation.

"Kurti's statement about the Serb List is another form of pressure and it is shameful for the Prime Minister to say something like that. The Serb List is a party that is a part of the Kosovo system and I don't understand why someone has to be threatened that they would "pay" for something. We play like children. I think we really need to put some things on the right track, because this direction and this attitude is shameful, first of all for Prime Minister Kurti towards a party, which is the largest minority party in Kosovo," Radakovic says.

Radakovic states that we received confirmation from Josep Borrell and Albin Kurti himself that it was the Kosovo side that rejected the EU proposal.

"I am afraid of Kurti's statement that this takes everything back to April 2013, so what is the point of all the agreements, 39 of them that we have so far, which concern our life and security here in the north. I hope that soon some things will change but without serious negotiations and without pressure on the Kosovo side, I think we will only have greater escalation, arrests, and pressure," Radakovic says.

He states that Kurti will not stop without serious sanctions and pressure.

"Without serious sanctions, above all regarding visa liberalization and pressure from the citizens themselves, above all the Albanians, who more than eagerly await visa liberalization, there will be no changes. Kurti will continue to go in this direction. I sincerely hope for some changes, I hear that Ramush Haradinaj plans to organize the entire opposition for new elections, so we will see," Radakovic concluded.
