Veselin Radovic, a legal expert from Leposavic, stated to Kosovo Online that he expected the petition for the removal of the mayor in the city to succeed, after which they would proceed with the removal of, as he said, the illegitimately elected municipality president.

"As you can see, the people are interested, and we have started collecting signatures. On this occasion, I want to thank our citizens for coming in such large numbers and hope they continue like this so that we can succeed in our intentions," said Radovic, who is a member of the initiative group of citizens in this municipality.

As he added, he has high expectations for the petition, and he hopes that it is just the beginning of this fight.

"We expect the petition to be filled, so we can move on to the next step in removing the illegitimate mayor," Radovic emphasized.

In any case, citizens started signing the petition a little before nine in the morning. Due to the cold weather, a tent was set up in front of the Leposavic municipality.

Up to this point, slightly more than 500 citizens have signed the petition in Leposavic.

In last year's elections that Serbs boycotted, Lulzim Hetemi was elected as the mayor of Leposavic.
