Rakocevic: The Kosovo government declared a part of its system as a terrorist organization

Author and journalist Zivojin Rakocevic, regarding the decision of the Government of Kosovo to declare "Civil Protection" and "Northern Brigade" as terrorist organizations, pointed out that it had not been enough for the Kosovo authorities to arrest individuals, and therefore some organizations had to be declared as terroristic.

Rakocevic stated for Kosovo Online that the Government of Kosovo continued the action of criminalizing the north of Kosovo.

"It is obvious that there is some kind of system in all of this. First, they terrorized individuals, and those involved in the Kosovo system, i.e. the policemen. They arrested people with whom they had worked for 20 years, with some even longer. Now it is not enough, so some organizations must be declared evil and so continue the intervention called, 'in the north of Kosovo and Metohija live the pure black devils.' we have come to a position where the Serbs have what they have never had before, which is a terrorist organization," Rakocevic said.

Given that "Civil Protection" was integrated into the Kosovo system in 2015, Rakocevic stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had declared a part of his system as a terrorist organization, while for the "Northern Brigade", it was not known what kind of organization it was.

"We need to make a distinction; it is not even completely clear what the 'Northern Brigade' is. It is not clear if these are some people who organize themselves through social networks, but we certainly know what 'Civil Protection' is. It is an organization that is integrated into the Kosovo system, they did interaction training, and they, therefore, became a part of the Kosovo system. Now, paradoxically, the Kosovo authorities and Albin Kurti have declared a part of their system as a terrorist organization," Rakocevic said.

According to him, the goal is to send a message that there is a "Serbian terrorist organization" in "democratic Kosovo" that should be fought against.

"According to Kurti, the only thing the Serbs lacked was that they had a terrorist organization. We should somehow push the idea that there is a terrorist organization in 'democratic, orderly and European' Kosovo, which of course should be fought against," Rakocevic added.

As he stated, following the model of the KLA, the Kosovo government knew how to "turn the Serbs into criminals."

"The government of Kosovo has the right to everything; it and any individual in a system that is so anarchic, can point a finger and say - he is a war criminal, after which he ends up in prison. It no longer makes any sense. The government of Kosovo goes after romantic experiences of the KLA fight and personal impressions of what should be done to the Serbs, how to attack an individual, how to turn him into a villain, and how to create a new black symbol called the terrorist organization of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. It sounds senseless, I believe even for the creators of that idea," Rakocevic said.

He added that in the absence of law enforcement, any individual could put an entire group of people in danger.

"Perfectly prescribed European laws cannot be applied in Kosovo, here you can apply your personal national feeling, turn hatred or lack of tolerance into sending one person to prison; you can put a whole group of people in danger, as they are doing now with the declaration of a terrorist organization, you can do whatever you want in the space that has given up the application of the law," Rakocevic believes.

He points out that it is deeply clear that the culture of disrespecting agreements, laws, other and different, leads to ongoing danger, and essentially maintains a system that, he states, both the Albanians and the Serbs know is unsustainable.
