As a rule, when criminals are not punished, crimes are repeated, the Serb List points out on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the murder of Serbian children in Gorazdevac.

"Today marks the 20th anniversary of the monstrous crime in which, unfortunately to this day, unknown villains shot innocent Serbian children, who were bathing in the Bistrica River in Gorazdevac, unaware that they would be showered with deadly bullets and end the childhood of Ivan Jovovic and Panta Dakic forever, wounding four Serbian children, and causing the downfall of this Serbian village of Metohija. Unfortunately, like other crimes against the Serbs, this crime has remained without a judicial epilogue and punishment of those responsible for the murders and injuries of Serbian children to this day," according to the statement of the Serb List.

The most terrible of all, they add, is the fact that this crime was committed before the eyes of tens of thousands of members of international military and police forces that came with a mission to ensure peace and security for all citizens, including the Serbs.

To make matters worse, instead of finding and punishing those responsible, representatives of EULEX, as they underline, the most expensive mission of the European Union for the rule of law, had suspended the investigation and left the work on this case to the Kosovo institutions, which had never ascertained responsibility for any attack on the Serbs.

"As a rule, when criminals are not punished, crimes are repeated, so we witnessed that 20 years later, on Christmas Day this year, Serbian children, Stefan and Milos Stojanovic, were shot again in the village of Gotovusa in the municipality of Strpce, who, Thank God, survived this attack. Eight months later, although there is all the evidence of the guilt of the Albanian member of the KSF who shot Stefan and Milos for no reason and without the slightest humanity, there is no verdict for this crime, as in all attacks on the Serbs," the Serb Lista underlines.

While the Serbs in Kosovo, and especially in Gorazdevac, mourn Ivan and Panta, and hope that those responsible will be brought to justice and that such a crime will never be repeated to anyone, they add, it remains a pity that even in this place there are no international representatives who, as a rule, forget to visit the places of suffering of the Serbs, or at least issue a statement with the same wishes as the residents of Gorazdevac, that those responsible be found and punished, and that this kind of crime does not happen again.
