Shahini: The US has not been dealing with Kosovo because of the Kosovo government
The President of the Kosovo Business Alliance, Agim Shahini, in response to the visit of US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, to Kosovo, stated that he expects the United States to address issues related to dialogue, economic development, Kosovo's integration, and new recognitions.
"I expect that next year will be the last in which Kosovo and Serbia need to make a major step forward. I expect a new Kosovo government and a new US president who will initiate new negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, which will bring the dialogue to a conclusion in all the directions previously agreed upon in the White House," Shahini emphasized.
He pointed out that the United States had not been focusing on Kosovo due to the current Kosovo government.
"I expect the US to maintain the same dialogue trend, and various issues related to dialogue, economic development, and Kosovo's integration are expected to be addressed, along with Kosovo moving toward a new trend of recognition by other countries. It has been four years without new recognitions, we don’t have membership in any international mechanisms, and all of this is because of the Kosovo government and the US, which has not been dealing with Kosovo. The international community believes this government is not good for dialogue, does not honor its commitments, and as a result, we are facing sanctions for the first time," Shahini said.
