EU Spokesperson Peter Stano emphasized that the European Union was closely following the situation in northern Kosovo and reiterated that the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities should start immediately without any further delay or preconditions.

Stano stated during a press conference that they were in contact with relevant authorities and governments to fully understand the developments and, if necessary, respond appropriately.

Regarding how the EU views the situation in northern Kosovo, Stano said that it had been clearly stated in the joint statement of the 27 EU member states.

"Everything is outlined there, as well as all of the EU's expectations regarding the Kosovo Security Forces and the Kosovo Police," Stano explained.

The EU spokesperson reiterated that the EU had clearly stated that the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities should begin immediately without any delay or preconditions.

"As for how to do it, in what manner, and in what form it will be, these matters will be discussed in the dialogue. The dialogue is the platform in which we will address these issues. The negotiation process should and will be conducted in the dialogue, not in the media and the public," Stano said.

He emphasized that the CSM was an international obligation that Kosovo had undertaken and he reiterated that technical matters, such as its structure, functioning, and status, would be addressed during the dialogue.

"These are matters that the EU expects will be resolved within the framework of the dialogue," Stano concluded.
