Trendafilova’s press briefing canceled due to protest by KLA veterans

A planned press briefing by the President of the Specialist Chambers, Ekaterina Trendafilova, in Pristina was canceled after KLA veterans set off black smoke flares in front of the hotel where the conference was supposed to take place.

“Today’s scheduled press briefing in Pristina with the President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers has been canceled in the interest of public safety and on the advice of the Kosovo Police,” the Specialist Chambers stated.

KLA veterans gathered in front of the “Sheraton” hotel in Pristina, where Trendafilova was to hold the conference, which was subsequently canceled. Members of the Social Democratic Party were also seen at the scene.

Police blocked the entrance to the hotel, and chants of “KLA, KLA” were heard.

The head of the KLA War Veterans Organization, Hysni Gucati, stated that they had achieved their goal.

“Trendafilova canceled the meeting and there is no press conference. I believe and hope that we achieved our goal. That is the information we have. She might still be inside,” Gucati said.

Trendafilova arrived in Kosovo yesterday and is expected to stay until tomorrow.
