The President of the humanitarian organization 'Kosovsko Pomoravlje,' Nikola Vasic, emphasizes the importance of preserving the memory of what happened on March 17, 2004. That's why this year they published the book 'Metohijski Sfumato' by Dusica Filipovic.

“We strive to preserve the memory of March 17th. Every year, our organization carries out some action on that date. Last year, we donated 300 books to Vitina, which also suffered on that date. This year, we are publishing the book 'Metohijski Sfumato' by Dusica Filipovic, containing testimonies from 1999 onwards. This is our contribution to remembering that pogrom,“ Vasic emphasizes.

He recalls that Partesh was not targeted at the time, but remembers that everyone was in anticipation and fear of whether they would be attacked.

“I was a boy, about ten years old. Thankfully, there was no pogrom in our community, but on that day, we lived with a certain amount of fear and anticipation, wondering if we would be attacked like an enclave in Partesh," Vasic said.

According to his words, March 17th 'still continues.'

“Unfortunately, but in a different form. Today, we witness various pressures, especially regarding land issues, we have various arrests, seemingly with impunity. This abolition of the dinar and Serbian institutions is also a way of expelling the Serbs, but in a different format,“ Vasic concludes.
