Vucevic: Albin Kurti's regime continues its agenda of ethnically cleansing Kosovo and Metohija of Serbs

Serbia's Minister of Defense, Milos Vucevic, stated that to de-escalate the situation in northern Kosovo, the willingness of Pristina should be taken into account, as reported by Pink.

Vucevic emphasized that if anyone had been sending messages for calming the situation, it was the Serbian side.

"Albin Kurti's regime continues with the agenda of ethnically cleansing Kosovo and Metohija of Serbs. For now, they are following a model similar to the indirect 'Operation Storm,' creating an atmosphere where people say they cannot survive. This reminds us of the events in Banja Luka in 1992, when the lives of babies were threatened, the famous battle for the corridor when medical supplies couldn't be delivered. After 31 years, we have a situation where someone is preventing medicine from reaching citizens," Vucevic said.

He asked non-governmental organizations if they had anything to say about Serbs in Kosovo lacking access to medication.

"An outright aggression was carried out against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia by 19 countries worldwide after World War II, without decisions from the Security Council. They ruthlessly bombed us, killing our children, civilians, soldiers, and police officers who were not legitimate targets, all for the purpose of annexing parts of the Republic of Serbia," Vucevic stated.

As he added, Serbia still feels the consequences of the bombings.

"It was aggression, not an action or intervention. Even the bombings were not enough. It was both a land aggression and an offensive; that's why we heard testimonies about Kosare and Pastrik," Vucevic said.

He expects Brussels to refrain from "tweeting and calling on both sides to exercise restraint."

"When two boys were shot in Kosovo and Metohija, the EU spokesperson condemned the shooting in Kosovo and Metohija but praised the work of the Kosovo Police. They didn't mention that it happened on Christmas Day because they were Serbs. They released the perpetrator after a month, pending trial. Yet, our mayor of Strpce has been detained for almost two years on suspicion of abusing his official position," Vucevic emphasized.

According to him, KFOR is responsible for maintaining peace under Resolution 1244. As he added, the authorities in Pristina are bothered by the Serbian Orthodox Church, as an institution that still functions in Kosovo.

"Considering Resolution 1244, the functional sovereignty of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija is limited, and the UN and KFOR were tasked with replacing that. Then, it got distorted, and now they are left with the Serbian Orthodox Church, an institution still functioning and present among the people, and they want to portray it as a terrorist cell. And who are the terrorists? Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija. Even part of Serbia is participating in this and claims that criminal groups control northern Kosovo, giving Albin Kurti the alibi to say that the same thing is being stated by the Serbian opposition. I don't know if they truly believe it or are forced to believe it, or if they have to say something, but unfortunately, it goes against the Serbian people and the state of Serbia," Vucevic concluded.
