Vucic: Hungary perfectly understands the situation in Kosovo

After a meeting in Budapest with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Hungary perfectly understood the situation in Kosovo, reports RTV.

"We will have a better and greater understanding than 20, 25 years ago, and that trend of mutual understanding will continue, because we behave as honest and close friends," Vucic said at the press conference, answering the question whether during the meeting he had in Budapest, the situation in Kosovo was also discussed.

He added that the Serbian and Hungarian people felt closeness in every place and at every step.

Vucic also referred to the situation in Montenegro, where, as he said, all the ambassadors of the world interfere with who is allowed to enter the Government, and they expect the Serbs to thank them for the recognition of Kosovo's independence.

"If Ulcinj or Plav secede, we will accept it right away, and if you don't send us champagne right away, we will say that you are threatening us? It's like when Kurti causes riots, and they say it's not Kurti's fault, but Vucic's for not recognizing Kosovo. Should we threaten Montenegro? What kind of nonsense is that, it doesn't occur to us. We only ask what is the position of the Serbs. You just can't prevent us from asking what is the situation of 30 percent of Serbs in that country. The Germans in Hungary have everything - from kindergarten to school. And there are very few Germans in Hungary. And there are 30 percent of Serbs in Montenegro without any rights. It's best to make special thank-you cards for everyone who recognized Kosovo," said Vucic.

He pointed out that Serbia did not threaten anyone, and said that for many people in the region, the only policy was to talk against Serbs.

"And if Vucic could mention them, only then do they become important. Like those from the opposition say “As he mentioned me, he must be very afraid of me”," said Vucic.

Vucic points out that he does not know why he was invited to the meeting in Greece.

"One of the topics will be European integration. They wouldn't call me for that, and how could I know why they called me. Even if I knew, I wouldn't talk about it," said the President of Serbia.
