Kovacevski: "Open Balkan" should not scare anyone

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, said at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, that no one should be afraid of the "Open Balkan" initiative, Klan Kosova reports.

"The Open Balkan initiative should not scare anyone, on the contrary. It is an original idea, not only of politicians, but also of businesses, communities and citizens of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia. So, if you look, when you go to the north of Serbia, when you go west from Serbia to Croatia, there are no borders. The only borders that remain are the borders in the Balkans. The borders between North Macedonia and Albania, between North Macedonia and Kosovo, between North Macedonia and Serbia", Kovacevski said.

He added that borders between countries in the Balkans are unnecessary.

"We all agreed, Aleksandar Vucic, Edi Rama, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and I, that we do not need these borders. Since these peoples who live in these areas are brotherly peoples, the politics has led over the years to the fact that they do not live well among themselves Today, we have politicians who are working to ensure that there are no such borders", Kovacevski said.
