The Church of the Ascension of the Lord in the village of Devet Jugovica near Pristina has been broken into, according to Father Aleksandar Naspalic from Babin Most, whose parish includes the church in that village.
Father Naspalic stated that unknown individuals had ransacked the church and taken money from the believers' contributions.
"Vandals entered the church, broke the entrance doors, and took away money amounting to several tens of euros. I reported the incident to the police, which has initiated an investigation," Naspalic said.
He added that the same church had been broken into five years ago.
"Five years ago, the church was also broken into, and 25 kilograms of beeswax candles were taken," Naspalic said.
There are only about ten Serbs left in Devet Jugovica, while until 1999, 150 Serbian families lived in that village.
