Delevic: Scandalous decision of the prosecution in the case of injuring the Serbs on Christmas Day
KSF member Azem Kurtaj, who wounded two Serbian young men Stefan Stojanovic (11) and Milos Stojanovic (21) on Christmas Day in Gotovusa, is charged by the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office with using a firearm and causing general danger, which Milos Delevic, who represents the wounded young men, considers scandalous.
Attorney Delevic says for Kosovo Online that justice cannot be served by such a decision.
"Today, the first hearing in the case of Azem Kurtaj, who wounded two Serbian young men on Christmas Day, was postponed. The qualification of the state prosecutor is, to put it mildly, scandalous in this case because Kurtaj is responsible for two crimes, causing general danger and using firearms. For these two crimes, according to the practice of the courts in Kosovo, an effective prison sentence is not given. We did not receive a translation of the indictment today, so for that reason, the trial was postponed until March 16," Delevic told us.
Let us remind you that two Serbian young men were wounded in Gotovusa when they were returning home after cutting the Serbian Christmas trees. Azem Kurtaj shot at them from the vehicle and wounded both young men. One was wounded in the hand while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Kurtaj fled the scene and was later arrested.
