In front of the Serb List offices in North Mitrovica, a large number of people were once again lined up today to sign a petition calling for a halt to the construction of new bridges over the Ibar River.

A significant crowd also gathered this morning, waiting in a long line to sign the petition demanding the suspension of the construction of new bridges in North Mitrovica.

At present, there are already three bridges that allow for uninterrupted traffic, as well as one pedestrian bridge, and according to citizens, additional bridges are unnecessary. The construction of two new bridges, announced by Kosovo’s caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti, for which he laid the foundation stones on July 1, is seen by locals as unnecessary, claiming it raises tensions, poses security risks, and aims to alter the demographic structure of North Mitrovica.

Today is the final day for signing the petition, which was organized by the Serb List. After the collection of signatures is completed, the party announced it will submit the petition to international missions in Kosovo responsible for security.
