Following the blockade of the Nis-Pristina highway in the village of Rudare near Kursumlija, the traffic intensity at the Merdare border crossing, both from Serbia and Kosovo, has decreased.

Rudare is located approximately 20 kilometers from the Merdare border crossing towards Kursumlija.

Local Serbs from Kursumlija blocked the road last night for trucks with Kosovo 'RKS' license plates, as a reciprocal measure to the one taken by the Kosovo government a few days ago, banning the entry of Serbian goods and trucks with license plates from the Republic of Serbia into Kosovo.

According to the organizers of the blockade, trucks and buses with Kosovo and foreign plates are still not being allowed to pass. They added that there were several attempts during the night, but all were turned back. Passenger cars can pass normally, and the blockade does not apply to them.

As reported by Kosovo Online's reporter from Merdare, only a small number of cars are crossing that border from Serbia.

Trucks from Albanian carriers, after a long wait in front of the border, have returned to Albania. Meanwhile, cars with Kosovo license plates are crossing without any issues, but at a significantly lower intensity than usual.

Several trucks with Montenegrin plates have also crossed from Kosovo into Serbia.
