Strpce residents approach Christmas with fear
Residents of the Strpce municipality are approaching the upcoming Christmas with fear and apprehension, remembering the events from last year when Stefan and Milos Stojanovic from Gotovusa were wounded on Christmas Eve.
Veljko Miladinovic, speaking for Kosovo Online, describes that event as a tragedy for the Serbian people, stating that the locals fear what might happen next.
"How can I express how we feel after that tragedy of the Serbian people, which continues even today? I feel sorry for those children who were wounded, and thank God they survived. As for the municipality of Strpce, the people have a special fear and stress due to all possible events that could escalate, given that the Pristina government refuses to negotiate with the Serbs and the Serbian people. It will be very difficult," Miladinovic said.
Marica Pesic emphasizes that the locals no longer know how to rejoice after that event.
"It's like it is not Christmas, we don't know how to rejoice anymore. I don't know what to say, it is sad and mournful. We don't know what awaits us, but we must move on," Pesic said.
"There is fear, older people are afraid of what will happen. We Serbs here in the Sirinicka Zupa really live in a ghetto," another resident of Strpce said.
