Vehicles with Serbian license plates are prohibited from entering Kosovo

The government of Kosovo made a decision this evening to ban vehicles with Serbian license plates from entering Kosovo, government spokesperson Perparim Kryeziu announced.

Kryeziu told Radio Free Europe that the Government, after the arrest of three members of the Kosovo Police by the Serbian authorities, had decided to increase the level of border controls.

"For security reasons, the institutions decided to increase the level of border controls. Therefore, as an urgent step, it was decided to prohibit the entry of vehicles with Serbian license plates into Kosovo, while the analysis of the situation by the security institutions continues. The following actions will be taken based on the recommendation of law enforcement institutions," he explained.
