Lawyer: The prosecutor is asking for 30 days of detention for Pantic, which is against the law; he slept on a chair

The hearing of the arrested Dejan Pantic from North Mitrovica ended today at 1 pm, and his lawyer Srdjan Mitrovic told Kosovo Online that the prosecutor asked for a detention measure of 30 days, even though it was against the law. He adds that he is waiting for the decision in the next few hours.

Mitrovic said that the hearing was held via a video link and that he did not see Pantic live.

"Dejan is in a facility in Jarinje, he looks tired, and he complained to me that he slept on a chair," Mitrovic says.

He adds that the prosecutor's request for a one-month detention measure for the arrested Pantic is against the law because there was no explanation for that measure.

"I made the claim that this was a very honest man, that he was buying bread at the time he was suspected of having committed a criminal offense, and we suggested that they take video footage from surveillance cameras from Knjaz Milos Street, Bosnjacka Street to his building as evidence, as well as a video from the Housing and Property Directorate building, which is located right next to the Pantic's building," the lawyer says.

He added that he proposed for the arrested Pantic to be released or that he is placed under house arrest.

Mitrovic says that even though Pantic is a heart patient, he has not received his therapy yet, but he was told that it would be delivered to him as soon as possible.

"He didn't take the therapy. I asked the judge how to deliver it to him, and he remained vague," Mitrovic says, who was hired by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

Dejan Pantic was arrested on Friday at the Jarinje crossing when he was returning from Raska with his family. He is charged with the criminal offense of "Committing a terrorist act".
