The Central Election Commission (CEC) has certified the candidates for Members of Parliament from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), but it refused to certify the candidates of the Serb List.

At the CEC session, the acting head of the Secretariat, Besnik Buxhala, stated that none of the candidates from PDK, LDK, or the Serb List were in violation of the prescribed provisions.
Nevertheless, two CEC members from the ranks of Self-Determination, Sami Kurteshi and Alban Krasniqi, voted against certifying the Serb List’s candidates, while six members abstained and three voted in favor.
CEC member from Self-Determination, Sami Kurteshi, said they were against certifying the candidates of a Serbian party supported by official Belgrade.
Those who abstained were representatives of PDK, AAK, LDK, as well as two members from non-majority communities, Koha reported.
After the vote, CEC Chairman Kreshnik Radonjiqi stated that the confirmation of the Serb List’s candidates had been rejected.
“The certification of the Serb List’s candidate list is rejected,” Radonjiqi said.

To recall, on December 5 the Serb List announced that the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel had upheld their appeal against the CEC decision not to grant them participation in the parliamentary elections scheduled for December 28.
“We inform the public that we have been officially notified that the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel has upheld our appeal against the illegal decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC), by which the regime in Pristina attempted to ban our participation in the elections and deny the Serbian people the right to choose their representatives,” the Serb List said in its statement.
Three days after the decision of the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel, the Serb List submitted its list of candidates to the Central Election Commission for the early parliamentary elections scheduled for December 28.
The list is headed by the party president, Prof. Dr. Zlatan Elek, and consists of 33 candidates.
